The implementation of a project to build a new highway between Tashkent city and the Charvak area is planned. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Makhkamov, in an interview with the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel.
According to the minister, this project covers the territories of Tashkent region, Tashkent city, and Syrdarya region, and is aimed at improving the transport infrastructure leading to the “Charvak-Chimgan” recreational zone.
Currently, the project concept has been prepared, and the implementation will proceed through a competitive selection process. The work is planned to be carried out in cooperation with leading international companies within the framework of a public-private partnership mechanism.
“Without affecting existing transport routes, we will also begin construction of a new Tashkent–Charvak highway,” emphasized Ilkhom Makhkamov.
It is expected that the new road will provide citizens with faster and more convenient travel, while also creating significant benefits for tourists. In addition, this infrastructure could enhance the investment and tourism attractiveness of the region.
