An incident in the Bostanliq district of Tashkent region caused widespread discussion on social media. Footage showing extremely dirty and foul-smelling water flowing from the Charvak reservoir near various summer homes urged internet users to stay alert.
In the videos, it was clearly visible that sewage pipes were directly connected to the reservoir. This situation caused not only surprise but also serious concern among many.
As a result of investigations, it was determined that some residents near the Burchmulla neighborhood had dug special ditches and installed plastic pipes to direct domestic, rain, and irrigation water directly into the Charvak reservoir.
This is a gross violation that poses a serious threat not only to the ecological balance but also to public health.
Based on analyses carried out with the participation of environmental control authorities, law enforcement, and crime prevention services, legal measures were taken against the employee responsible for the reservoir.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Part 2 of Article 82 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The violator was fined 10 times the BCA (4 million 120 thousand soums) and held accountable for his actions.
Most importantly, the illegally dug ditches and installed sewage pipes were completely dismantled by specialists.
This incident once again proves that neglecting ecological rules poses a serious threat to public safety. Government agencies will continue to take strict measures against such cases.
