In the first half of 2025, our country’s tourism sector was once again marked by positive figures. According to the National Statistics Committee, between January and June, 783.7 thousand foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 255.1 thousand people, with a growth rate of 48.3 percent.
Despite the competitive environment in the tourism market, interest in Uzbekistan continues to grow, as these figures clearly show. In particular, in the first half of 2025, citizens of the Russian Federation took absolute leadership among tourists visiting our country — 166.6 thousand people. They were followed by tourists from Turkmenistan — 123 thousand people. Kazakhstan completed the top three, sending 77.7 thousand visitors to our country.
In addition, 71.6 thousand tourists arrived from Kyrgyzstan, 49.1 thousand from Tajikistan, and 39.1 thousand from China. The number of guests from Turkey was 29.3 thousand, from India — 22 thousand, from Italy — 18.6 thousand, and from South Korea — 14.9 thousand.
According to tourism industry experts, this growth is linked to several factors: the expansion of the visa-free regime, improvements in road infrastructure, the implementation of international advertising campaigns, and an increase in cultural events. At the same time, the country’s rich history, unique architectural monuments, and national cuisine also attract foreign visitors.
As a result of programs aimed at further increasing the country’s tourism potential, it is expected that this figure will be even higher by the end of 2025. Representatives of the tourism industry hope that record figures will be recorded this year.
