A new Olympic village has opened in Tashkent, marking an important step in the large-scale reforms and development of sports infrastructure. On August 18, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the facility and got acquainted with its construction.
Construction of the village began on November 9, 2022, and now it occupies more than 100 hectares. This unique project, worth 290 million dollars, was implemented by the company "CAMC Engineering" in compliance with international standards. The Olympic village includes modern engineering solutions and cutting-edge innovative technologies.
The village consists of five main sports complexes, including a velodrome, tennis courts, fencing, and e-sports. The velodrome is built with complex engineering solutions and a unique design. Its wooden covering, track, and corner angles meet the requirements of the International Olympic Committee. To maintain an optimal temperature throughout the year, the velodrome ensures a constant climate, which helps preserve the quality of materials used and improve athlete performance.
At the center of the village is a 12,000-seat stadium, which can host world championships and Diamond League events. The stadium will also be used for local and international tournaments, including competitions in athletics, parasports, and events for visually impaired athletes.
The new opportunities in the village are not limited to sports. There will also be a 400-bed Paralympic dormitory and a scientific and practical sports medicine center. All facilities will be energy-efficient, with solar panels installed to generate electricity. These steps will help preserve the environment and support sustainable development.
A complex for hosting competitions in team and individual sports has also been created. All of these actions are aimed at further developing sports in the country and creating new opportunities for intellectual and physical development of youth.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to all the specialists involved in the construction of the Olympic village and emphasized the importance of every step taken to elevate sports in the country.
