Another visit of historical significance is taking place for Uzbekistan. At the personal invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will come to our country on August 25–26 with a state visit. This visit is expected to open a new page in the history of relations between the two states.
The main events of the high-ranking guest are scheduled to take place in the ancient and beautiful city of Samarkand. The special political and cultural symbolic significance of Samarkand makes this visit even more unique.
The official program will include detailed discussions on cooperation in political, trade-economic, and investment spheres. In addition, issues of launching joint projects in such important sectors as chemistry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, and mining have been placed on the agenda. Special attention will also be given to expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as strengthening friendship and unity between our peoples.
Along with this, an exchange of views on urgent aspects of international and regional politics is also planned. This process shows that the role of both countries is growing not only in bilateral but also in wider regional cooperation.
At the end of the negotiations, the signing of a package of important documents and bilateral agreements is envisaged, which are expected to bring relations between Uzbekistan and Jordan to a new stage.
For the general public, the main point is that this visit may further deepen strategic cooperation between the two countries and open doors to new opportunities.
