During the first half of 2025, the total volume of microloans taken by the population of Uzbekistan reached 49.8 trillion soums. Compared to the corresponding period of 2024, this figure increased by 2.7 trillion soums and grew by 2.2 times. These figures show that the micro-lending market in the country has expanded, and access to financial services for the population has been increasingly expanding, the Central Bank reported.
According to the Central Bank, the share of microloans in the total volume of microfinance services is distributed as follows:
75% in commercial banks (40.2 trillion soums);
69% in microfinance organizations (8.3 trillion soums);
And in pawnshops - 100% (1.3 trillion soums).
During the first half of the year, microloans issued in state banks increased by 1.7 times (4.1 trillion soums), and in private banks - by 2.3 times (17.3 trillion soums). These indicators confirm the activity of the public and private sectors in providing financial assistance to the population.
In the context of banks, the volume of microloans in Agrobank increased by 5.5 times (2 trillion soums), in the Business Development Bank - by 5.3 times (804 billion soums), and in Microcreditbank - by 4.4 times (941 billion soums). Among private banks, the largest growth was observed at Davrbank - 8.8 times (440 billion soums), as well as at Tenge Bank - 4 times (235 billion soums) and TBC Bank - 3 times (14.3 trillion soums).
The volume of microloans in microfinance organizations and pawnshops also increased by 5.6 trillion soums, or 2.4 times. This is explained by the growing demand for the use of small financial loans by the population.
For information, in the ten days until August 25 of this year, microloans were issued at an average rate of 35.9%. In the context of banks, the lowest microloan was allocated at 22.8%, and the highest rate was allocated at 42.3%. These indicators show that there are different financial opportunities for the population and competition between banks.
