As a new initiative, a draft law on amendments and additions to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses was presented to the public. These reforms are mainly aimed at preventing cases of illegal wearing of uniforms belonging to employees of ministries, departments, and various organizations.
According to the document, paragraph "o" of the first part of Article 56 of the Criminal Code will be revised and replaced with paragraphs "o" and "p." According to the new edition:
"o) committing a crime under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
p) a person who is not a representative of the authorities commits a crime using the uniform of a representative of the authorities or official documents."
A new Article 209-1 has been added to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which states:
wearing official, military, or special uniforms belonging to employees of ministries and organizations by a person without any rights entails confiscation of clothing and a fine from two to five times the basic calculated value.
Also, the development and use of clothing similar to the color, style, symbols, or distinguishing marks of military and departmental uniforms will result in serious fines. In this case, the clothing may be confiscated, and the amount of the fine may be set from five to ten times the base calculation.
If the new draft law is officially adopted, it will aim to eliminate cases of abuse of uniforms and strengthen public safety.
