Public participation in the fight against corruption will be further strengthened

An important step has been taken in Uzbekistan in the fight against corruption. The President signed a decree "On measures to further expand the participation of civil society institutions and support scientific research in the field of combating corruption."

According to the document, non-governmental non-profit organizations will now actively participate in the implementation of the provisions of the UN Convention against Corruption. They will establish an alternative assessment system and conduct additional monitoring of the work of state bodies. This will further enhance transparency and accountability.

At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Agency annually submits a number of proposals and reports to the National Council by April 1. In particular, information on the issue of state financing of projects implemented by NGOs, their research and studies is regularly provided.

The resolution provides for another important initiative - the creation of a "Regional Research Center on Combating Corruption" at the initiative of the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Commercial Organizations of Uzbekistan, the "Yuksalish" movement, and the "Ijtimoiy Fikr" Center. Its main task will be to form an uncompromising attitude towards this evil among the population, especially among young people, to increase the activity of civil society institutions, and to organize scientific research.

Experts emphasize that this decision will strengthen cooperation not only between government bodies but also between the general public and civil society institutions in the fight against corruption. This serves not only to implement effective measures against vice, but also to strengthen honesty and justice among the younger generation as a life value.
