On September 22, on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Special Representative of the US President for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore. This meeting was an important step towards further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding further cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gore conveyed sincere greetings from US President Donald Trump to the President of Uzbekistan, which once again confirmed goodwill and trust in the relationship between the two countries. During the telephone conversation with Trump, important agreements for both sides were strengthened, and at the same time, a new stage of comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA was entered.
During the conversation between the leaders of the two countries on September 5 of this year, various areas aimed at further developing and ensuring the stability of the Uzbek-American strategic partnership were discussed. At the meeting, the dynamic political dialogue and exchange of delegations, as well as the growing dynamics of business contacts, were noted with satisfaction.
These events, held in New York, undoubtedly contributed to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA. In particular, numerous productive meetings and events held with leading US companies contributed to the support of new projects. These projects are expected to be implemented in such priority areas as civil aviation, mining, finance, innovation, chemistry, and energy. Contracts and promising projects totaling over $100 billion have been formed in these areas.
In addition, the importance of using the capabilities of the US Eximbank and the DFC Fund for the implementation and support of new projects, as well as the establishment of a joint coordinating committee to accelerate them, was emphasized. Special attention was paid to the importance of cooperation in matters of security, combating terrorism and illegal migration.
The schedule of upcoming events, which will serve to strengthen cooperation not only in the economic sphere, but also in the security sphere, was also considered. These new events will further strengthen Uzbekistan's position in the international arena and bring relations with the USA to a new level.
