On September 22, within the framework of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, US Special Representative for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore shared his thoughts with Uzbek journalists who were in New York to cover the event after his meeting with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
One of the journalists asked about his expectations of Donald Trump for Uzbekistan and about his meeting with Shavkat Mirziyoyev. According to Sergio Gore, US President Donald Trump expressed his respect for the leader of Uzbekistan and expressed great confidence in his presidency.
"I mean, the president spoke with your president at the beginning of this month. He asked me to convey his sincere greetings. He deeply respects your president," Gor said.
He emphasized that the results of cooperation between the US and Uzbekistan, in particular, the agreements signed by the largest US companies with Uzbekistan, demonstrate the readiness of both countries for cooperation. This, in turn, meant the desire to develop cooperation at a high level.
Gor also said that many important topics were discussed at the meeting with Shavkat Mirziyoyev. "Strengthening relations, cooperation, business and security issues. We discussed many issues. Your wonderful president was warmly welcomed at the White House," he added.
This dialogue between the presidents was an important step aimed at further strengthening ties between the two countries. According to Gore, the US expects further expanded cooperation with President Mirziyoyev, which will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
