President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 6 for a working visit. The head of state made this trip at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the presidential press service reported.
At the Gabala International Airport, the president was greeted by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Odil Karimli, head of the Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev, and other officials.
The main purpose of the visit is to participate in the summit of the Organization of Turkic States. This international forum will be held tomorrow, October 7, in the city of Gabala under the theme “Regional Peace and Security.”
The summit agenda includes discussions on deepening strategic cooperation among Turkic countries, expanding economic ties, and implementing joint projects in transport and energy sectors.
In addition, new initiatives in education, culture, and information exchange are expected to be proposed.
At the end of the meeting, several important documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States are expected to be signed.
According to analysts, the Gabala summit could mark a new stage for the countries of the region. The event is expected to help strengthen the economic, political, and cultural unity of the Turkic states.
President Mirziyoyev’s visit is also of great importance in Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, once again demonstrating the country’s active role in regional cooperation.
It is noted that within the framework of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev may also hold a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss new prospects and practical directions of partnership.
Thus, the summit in Gabala symbolizes not only the unity of the Turkic nations but also their shared aspiration for peace, stability, and development.
