At the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber, important changes regarding the use and use of human images were considered, and a draft was adopted. Now there is a mandatory requirement to obtain consent to take someone's photo or video, as well as to distribute it.
Another important aspect of the innovation is the special protection of children's image rights: a child is also recognized as an independent subject of law based on their image. At the same time, the consent of persons under 16 years of age for the image must be given by their parents or legal representatives.
As the draft was prepared for the second reading, many explanatory changes were made to ensure the unambiguous application of the norms. The document clearly defines in what cases it is possible to use photographs and images without the consent of the person - that is, it is assumed that there will be no room for various interpretations.
There is also a strict procedure for video surveillance: if a camera is installed in public places, a noticeable warning sign about this will be mandatory. Areas where camera installation is prohibited have also been identified - places with a high degree of privacy, such as changing rooms and toilets.
The draft law was approved by the deputies and sent to the Senate. After the document comes into force, legal relations related to photos and videos will be further regulated, and the mechanism for protecting the private life of citizens will be strengthened.
