By Government Resolution No. 629, the Regulation defining the "Procedure for Preparing and Conducting the Population and Agriculture Census in Uzbekistan" was approved. The document clearly states the general rules, deadlines, and who is included or not included in the calculation.
Matliv date and duration
Registration will begin on January 15, 2026, at 00:00 and will last until February 28, that is, for 45 days. Changes that occurred after the "cut-off date" are not counted: for example, a questionnaire is not filled out for newborns born after January 15, but persons who died after this date are reflected in the registration materials.
What is collected and how
Questionnaires related to the personal data of respondents and agricultural activities are filled out. Respondents are registered at their permanent or temporary place of residence. A place of residence is understood as a house, apartment, or other residential/non-residential building where a person spends most of the night.
Non-account categories
When calculating the size and composition of the population, the following are not taken into account:
- citizens of Uzbekistan who have been outside the country for more than one year;
- employees of foreign diplomatic missions, international and intergovernmental organizations accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as members of their families;
- other persons who have diplomatic privileges and immunity under international treaties.
Why is this important?
A clear list is the most reliable "baseline map" for planning social services, planning infrastructure and territorial development programs. Aggregate information on agriculture serves to accurately assess food security, the distribution of farm capacities and resources.
