On October 20, the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Gasanov, in Samarkand.
During the meeting, the defense ministers of the two countries discussed issues of expanding military cooperation, improving the system of joint training, establishing the exchange of experience and practical knowledge, as well as developing interstate military and military-technical cooperation, strengthening mutual cooperation in the fight against international terrorism.
The main goal of the meeting was to develop practical cooperation that serves to ensure peace, unity, and sustainable development.
Today, October 21, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Gasanov, together with the Ministers of Defense of the Central Asian countries, will observe the regional exercises "Unity-2025," which will be held at the Kattakurgan training ground of the Central Military District with the participation of units of the Ministries of Defense of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
