A new program to combat air pollution has been developed in Tashkent

New comprehensive measures aimed at reducing air pollution and mitigating the effects of climate change have been developed in Tashkent city and the Tashkent region, reported the Ministry of Ecology.

The project has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for review, with its main goal being to significantly reduce the amount of harmful substances emitted by industrial enterprises and greenhouses.

According to the document, it is planned to install dust and gas cleaning equipment at factories, replace outdated boilers with energy-efficient and environmentally friendly systems. In addition, the use of coal fuel will be gradually reduced with a transition to alternative energy sources.

Under the draft resolution, enterprises that modernize production processes and implement treatment facilities as well as automatic air monitoring systems will receive financial incentives and grants.

Experts note that the implementation of these measures will significantly improve air quality in the capital and the region. This will not only enhance environmental safety but also create a healthy and comfortable living environment for the population.

Strengthening environmental standards is considered an important step in Uzbekistan’s strategy toward a “green economy.”
