Trump presents Mirziyoyev with a cap

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation headed by Sergio Gor, the Special Representative of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia, the Presidential Press Service reported.

The meeting was also attended by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and other officials. During the conversation, the sides discussed the development of strategic partnership between the two countries and the implementation of agreements signed at the highest level on September 23 in New York.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gor conveyed greetings and sincere wishes from Donald Trump to President Mirziyoyev. At the end of the conversation, he presented several gifts on behalf of Trump, including a personal cap.

The sides emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, digitalization, agriculture, and finance. They also discussed issues of partnership in the areas of security, combating terrorism, migration, and strengthening regional stability.

Preparations for the upcoming C5+1 summit, scheduled to be held next week in Washington, were also discussed.

For reference: Sergio Gor is a politician born in Tashkent and is considered one of Donald Trump’s close associates. He previously served as Director of the White House Personnel Office and, in 2025, was nominated by Trump for the position of U.S. Ambassador to India.

He is currently serving as the U.S. Special Representative for South and Central Asia.
