In Uzbekistan, the number of newborns has increased this year, and the number of boys among them is significantly higher than girls. According to official data published by the National Statistics Committee, in January-September 2025, about 665,000 newborns were registered with the Civil Registry Offices throughout the country.
According to the data, 343.6 thousand of them, or 51.7%, are boys, and 321 thousand, or 48.3%, are girls. This indicator means that the number of boys is approximately 20 thousand more than girls.
Births also differed geographically. In the cities of the republic, 319.3 thousand newborns were born, while in rural areas this figure was 345.3 thousand. That is, 52 percent of the total number of births was recorded in rural areas, and 48 percent in cities.
Statistical data indicate the stability of demographic growth in the country. According to experts, the natural population growth rate is in a positive direction, which indicates the existence of a favorable environment for social development and the birth of a healthy generation.
Demographic indicators are closely related to the sustainable development of the country's economy, healthcare, and education. The increase in the number of newborns will play an important role in planning the future needs of the labor market, the education system, and social infrastructure.
Experts also note that maintaining the natural balance of population growth demonstrates the country's stable demographic policy. This once again shows that every newborn is an important link in the future prosperity of the country and the development of human capital.
