
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the United States Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnick in Washington.
Issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-American strategic partnership, intensifying trade and investment cooperation, and implementing joint projects in various sectors of the economy were considered.

The consistent development of Uzbek-American multifaceted relations was noted with satisfaction. In recent years, the trade turnover has quadrupled and reached almost $1 billion. More than 300 US companies are successfully operating in Uzbekistan, and a number of large cooperation projects are being implemented in industry, agriculture, energy, and innovation.

Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening trade relations, creating effective mechanisms for interregional cooperation, as well as establishing a Coordination Council.
Special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture. Preliminary agreements have been signed for the supply of soybeans and cotton from the USA, as well as for the introduction of advanced American drip irrigation technologies.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to intensify practical cooperation by creating an investment platform to support joint projects.
