The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services has commented on social media reports claiming that “more than 9,000 elevators in Tashkent were found to be faulty.” According to the ministry, these claims are not true.
The official statement noted that certain deficiencies identified during technical inspections do not mean that the elevators are out of order. These cases are part of preventive maintenance procedures aimed at ensuring operational safety.
“During technical inspections, the condition of elevators is regularly assessed. Necessary measures are taken regarding identified shortcomings. This does not mean that the elevators are non-functional or faulty,” the ministry said in its statement.
It should be noted that in recent years, several programs have been implemented in the capital to renew the elevator system and improve technical maintenance. According to the ministry, these efforts aim to ensure public safety and stabilize elevator operations.
