Flights to Resume Between Tashkent and Ashgabat

A significant step has been taken to strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Direct flights between Tashkent and Ashgabat will be reinstated.

This decision was made following expanded-format negotiations between the presidents, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During the meeting, special attention was given to bolstering bilateral trade relations.

An essential element in this direction is the imminent launch of the "Shovot-Dashoguz" cross-border trade zone. It was emphasized that the commissioning of this facility will significantly increase the volume of trade between the countries.

The parties expressed their readiness to expand this successful initiative and implement it in other border regions, including the "Olot-Farab" area. Additionally, beyond surface trade, the countries also agreed on joint development of the Turkmenbashi port.
