On December 2, the head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting of a special commission on urgent measures to improve the environmental situation in Tashkent. This was reported via the commission's Telegram channel.
At this event, aimed at improving the global environmental situation, the chairman of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov, the khokim of the city of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov, the khokim of the Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzayev, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies made reports.
"The problem of air pollution is under the constant personal control of the head of our state. "Currently, scientific analysis of this situation is being conducted, and foreign experts, along with local specialists, have been involved," the report says.
Saida Mirziyoyeva set specific tasks for the members of the special commission. According to him, each implemented measure should have its own timeline, and through systematic actions, air pollution should not be repeated next year. The Commission is obliged to carry out its work precisely and without delay.
The government and responsible agencies were required to adopt a number of other decisions on increasing green spaces, restoring the irrigation ditch system, reducing industrial waste, and improving the air situation.
"Our President asks me every day for a report on this issue. None of us can allow negligence in matters related to the health of our people," Saida Mirziyoyeva said.
The khokims of the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region were required to submit weekly reports on this important issue for our society. These initiatives will contribute to ensuring the ecological security of our country.
