At the ceremony of launching large-scale reforms and new facilities in the energy system of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke in detail about the tasks facing the industry, the results achieved, and future prospects. The head of state noted that the role of domestic producers in modernizing the country's energy sector and increasing the share of alternative sources is rapidly increasing.
In his speech, the President expressed confidence that the companies "Angren Energo" and "Uzhydropower" will not be just manufacturing enterprises today, but will become large national energy concerns that meet international standards in the future. In his opinion, these companies not only provide the domestic market with modern electrical equipment, but also give a strategic impetus to the development of the entire industry.
Today's statistics also testify to this: small solar panels with a capacity of more than 2 thousand megawatts have been installed in the private sector, residential buildings, and social facilities throughout the country. This year alone, they have generated almost 2 billion kilowatt-hours of alternative energy. This not only increases the stability of electricity supply, but also contributes to reducing dependence on energy imports.
At the same time, work on the fundamental renewal of electrical infrastructure is consistently continuing: 69 thousand kilometers of power lines, 14 thousand transformers and high-voltage substations have been updated in the regions of the country. It is noteworthy that a large number of domestic products and services are used in all these works. This year, local enterprises provided metal structures, cables, electrical equipment, and engineering services worth 700 million dollars.
As a vivid example of this development, it was noted that the 38-megawatt hydroelectric power station in the Naryn cascade was built entirely on the basis of local products.
As President Mirziyoyev noted, "Angren Energo," which produces 15,000 transformers per year, and "Uzhydropower," which manufactures 155 hydraulic units, will not only meet domestic needs but will also become major players in regional and international projects in the future. This is an important stage in Uzbekistan's strategy for energy security and industrial development based on local products.
