Cash registers at 16 stations of the Tashkent metro will be closed from December 9

In order to digitalize the payment system and increase transparency, the Tashkent Metro is closing traditional ticket offices at 16 stations starting December 9, 2025. They will be replaced by modern info kiosks.

Cash registers are stopped at the following stations:

All 14 stations of the "Earth Ring Road" route,

"Pakhtakor" and "Alisher Navoi."

The purchase of tickets with QR codes through info kiosks will be accelerated, queues will be reduced, cash turnover will decrease, and payments will be safer. The QR-code ticket can be used on a mobile phone or in printed form.

Currently, there are more than 10 ways to pay for travel in the metro. Automated ATMs are also being installed at many stations in the coming days.

Due to the complete digitalization of the system, the need for cash operators has decreased, and 204 positions were reduced in the first stage. By the end of the year, it is planned to install automatic devices at all stations and completely abolish the positions of cash register operators.
