A significant land reform effort is being implemented in the country to further increase the production of fruits and vegetables, ensure stable supply to the domestic market, and enhance export potential. Now, vacant lands located in pastures, hills, and foothill areas will be offered to entrepreneurs through open auctions for the establishment of industrialized orchards, vineyards, and modern vegetable farms.
Significantly, it has been stipulated that the land will be sold at auction for only 1 percent of its value. This move is expected to create substantial opportunities for entrepreneurs while triggering a new wave of investment in the agricultural sector.
As highlighted during the meeting, foothill lands allocated for the creation of industrial-type orchards and vineyards, as well as for the cultivation of vegetables and fodder crops, will be put up for auction at a reduced price. This approach will expand the agricultural turnover area and increase yields through the use of modern technologies.
Another convenience for auction winners is the ability to re-lease the land use rights to other entrepreneurs. Most notably, the formalization of such leasing rights will be completely free of charge. This practice is expected to liberalize market mechanisms and encourage more efficient use of land resources.
Thanks to these new opportunities, active and initiative-driven farmers plan to bring approximately 100,000 hectares of foothill land into agricultural turnover as early as next year. This step will play a crucial role in strengthening food security, increasing farmers' incomes, and developing new export products in the country.
In conclusion, opening foothill lands to entrepreneurs through auctions is ushering in a new phase in the agricultural sector — creating extensive opportunities for the establishment of modern orchards, vineyards, and major vegetable farms.
