Starting from August 2025, students who win gold medals in prestigious science Olympiads will receive prize money exceeding 1 billion soums. This decision has been made to strengthen the reward system for Olympiad winners and to enhance young people's interest in science.
This year, Uzbekistan's national team achieved outstanding results in international science Olympiads. For example, it secured two gold medals in the International Chemistry Olympiad and, for the first time, won a silver medal in the International Informatics Olympiad.
According to the new incentive system, each student who wins a gold medal in an Olympiad will be awarded 1,030,000,000 soums in prize money. Additionally, 185,400,000 soums in prize money has been allocated for the teachers of the Olympiad winners.
The press service of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education has also prepared a feature capturing the opinions of the Olympiad winners' parents. This initiative aims to further promote young people's interest in science and increase attention toward education.
