Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Ecology, Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov announced that large-scale cleanup campaigns "Urgent 20 Days" will be held throughout the country from December 20, 2025 to January 10, 2026. This initiative is aimed at keeping the environment cleaner and improving the ecological situation on the eve of the New Year.
It was reported that within the framework of the events, a special republican working headquarters was created under the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy. During the specified period, sanitary cleaning services regularly clean urban and rural areas of solid household waste.
Particular attention will be paid to ensuring strict compliance with sanitary requirements in mahallas. It was noted that measures will be taken to prevent the accumulation of waste during the holidays, as well as the timely removal of waste on the basis of unscheduled duty.
The main goal of the initiative is to create favorable conditions for the population to welcome the New Year in high spirits, to ensure the appearance of cities and villages, and to make a general contribution to environmental protection. At the same time, citizens were reminded once again of the need not to dispose of waste in unauthorized places and to treat the environment responsibly.
According to experts, such mass cleanup activities not only ensure cleanliness before the holiday, but also play an important role in the formation of ecological culture in society.
