
A Presidential Decree has been adopted in Uzbekistan to establish additional non-working days during the celebration of official holidays in 2026 and to postpone weekends.
In accordance with this document, residents will have the opportunity to rest for several days in connection with the New Year holiday.
According to the decree, the procedure for rest on New Year's Eve and holidays is defined as follows:
- December 31, Wednesday - a day off for all employees, regardless of the type of work week;
- January 1, Thursday - New Year's holiday for all employees;
- January 2, Friday - an additional day off for all employees;
- for employees working a six-day work week, January 3, Saturday - a day off;
- Sunday, January 4, which is a regular day off for all citizens.
Thus, Uzbeks will have the opportunity to rest for a total of 5 days during the New Year 2026 holiday.
