Ahead of the New Year holidays and winter break, Uzbekistan’s national rail carrier has taken measures to ease passenger flows on the country’s main tourist routes. Upl.uz reports this. According to representatives of the press service of Temiryulekspress, a company within Uzbekistan Railways JSC, a decision was made to introduce additional trains linking the capital with the republic’s historic centers. The Tashkent–Samarkand timetable will be expanded. From December 26–31 this year and on January 4, 2026, high-speed Afrosiyob electric trains will operate a total of 14 additional trips. From Samarkand, service No. 775 departs at 10:55, while from Tashkent, service No. 776 returns at 13:56. Passengers planning to travel to ancient Bukhara on the eve of the New Year were not overlooked either. On December 30 and 31, four special Afrosiyob services will be arranged. From Tashkent, service No. 778 departs at 06:10, and from Bukhara, service No. 777 returns at 18:08. Additional services will also be launched to the Khorezm region. Until January 12, 2026, 12 additional train runs will be operated on the Tashkent–Khiva route. In addition, Uzbekistan Railways specialists are taking steps to increase capacity on existing routes. It is planned to add four extra carriages to trains from Tashkent to Khiva, Shovot, Kungrad and Termez, as well as to the popular Sharq train services. This will allow thousands of citizens to comfortably reach their families or travel around the country. The high-speed Afrosiyob trains operating in Uzbekistan are manufactured by Spain’s Patentes Talgo S.L. and can reach speeds of up to 250 km/h. Their distinctive feature is a natural tilting system, which allows them to pass curves on older railways at high speed without discomfort for passengers. Read “Zamin” on Telegram! Ctrl
