AI-Powered Diagnosis of Lung Diseases

Reforms aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing dangerous diseases in our country are delivering results. According to the Ministry of Health, tuberculosis incidence among the population decreased by 3.7% over the past year. A key factor behind this achievement was the introduction of modern technologies and digital solutions into the healthcare system.
BD MAX — the key to fast and accurate diagnosis
In the fight against tuberculosis, time is the most critical factor. The BD MAX technology introduced at the Republican Specialized Center of Phthisiology and Pulmonology and its Fergana branch has brought a real revolution to this field.
- Speed: Test results that used to take days are now ready in just 2–3 hours.
- Reliability: With the human factor minimized, the likelihood of errors decreases and biosafety is ensured at a high level.
Artificial intelligence and mobile X-rays
Over the past three years, healthcare facilities have received 50 ultra-portable X-ray units equipped with “artificial intelligence.” This year brings more good news:
- New devices: Another 40 mobile X-ray units will be delivered to districts where respiratory diseases are most common.
- Unified registry: All screening results will be consolidated in the DHIS-2 electronic system. This enables specialists to analyze the disease spread map and forecast trends.
Neighborhood-based services and free screenings
Healthcare is now reaching remote areas and every household. The ministry’s plans are extensive:
- Broad coverage: 1 million citizens will undergo special testing for latent TB infection.
- Remote areas in focus: Completely free medical checkups will be organized for 200,000 people living in remote villages.
- Digital healthcare: Telemedicine capabilities will be expanded, improving the quality of specialized care at the neighborhood level.
