In order to radically improve the transport infrastructure of the Khorezm region, the construction of a new toll road in the direction of Urgench - Khiva is planned. This was reported by the press service of the Khiva khokimiyat.
It is noted that within the framework of the project, a new highway with a total length of 32 kilometers will be built. This road is an alternative to existing routes, significantly facilitating traffic flow, reducing travel time, and increasing traffic safety. After the road is fully commissioned, its operation will be carried out on a paid basis.
As a result of the launch of the new highway, the quality of transportation between the cities of Urgench and Khiva will improve, freight and passenger transportation will accelerate, and the investment and tourist attractiveness of the region will increase. According to the information, the highway starts from the territory of the city of Urgench and connects to the city of Khiva in a circular direction.
The toll road will serve to reduce the load on existing roads, eliminate traffic jams, and remove transit vehicles from densely populated areas. According to experts, the construction of the highway on a paid basis will ensure its constant maintenance, repair, and high quality of service.
The new toll highway leading to the city of Khiva, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, will also create convenience for tourists. Due to the reduction of travel time, an increase in the flow of domestic and foreign tourists is expected, as well as additional income to the region's economy.
