The President visited the "New Uzbekistan" residential area in Jarkurgan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "New Uzbekistan" residential area under construction in the Jarkurgan district.

In our country, the work on creating decent living conditions for the population, the construction of modern and comfortable housing is consistently expanding. In accordance with the Presidential Decree of October 12, 2021, measures are being implemented for the construction of "New Uzbekistan" housing developments and the socio-economic development of the regions.

One such project, built on the basis of modern urban planning requirements, is being erected in the Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region.

116 multi-story buildings are planned to be built on 50 hectares of the area under construction through the development of desert areas. To date, a polyclinic, a kindergarten for 180 places, a school for 330 places, and a mahalla building have been commissioned, and residents have moved into 1.5 thousand apartments in 68 houses.

An information technology and English language training center has also started operating, 7 micro-centers and 5 trade and consumer service facilities have been built. Drinking water supply, heating networks, and about 3 kilometers of gas pipeline have been laid, and a 250 kW transformer has been installed. Ornamental and fruit trees have been planted on 4.5 hectares of land, and saxaul plants have been planted on 300 hectares of steppe land.

In the future, it is planned to build about 50 more houses here. In particular, this year it is planned to build 14 more apartment buildings (280 apartments), new roads, landscaping works, and a park.

During the visit, the President familiarized himself with the work of the "Yangi Yoshlar" management service company operating on the territory of the massif. The company serves 161 apartment buildings in the district, 54 of which are located in this area. Solar panels with a capacity of 5-15 kilowatts are installed on the roofs of multi-story buildings in the area.

Inclusive education involves ensuring that every child, regardless of their physical or mental state, attends school and receives quality education.

The Head of State familiarized himself with the conditions created in school No. 66 of the massif, in particular, with the opportunities created for children with disabilities.

Today, more than 500 students study at the school. Special approaches to teaching children with disabilities based on modern standards have been introduced, and about 50 specialists and educators are working. The schoolyard, corridors, classrooms, dining room, gym, and treatment room are provided with the necessary conditions.

While familiarizing himself with the conditions created at the school, the head of state drew attention to the importance of artificial intelligence and digitalization for the lives and future of today's youth.

"We are not introducing artificial intelligence training programs into school education for nothing; we want students to be ready for higher education institutions, the labor market, and future professions," the President said.

After that, the President got acquainted with the activities of the Center for the Study of Foreign Languages and Information Technologies.

The 400-seat complex, built at the expense of 6.5 billion soums, will allow more than 2 thousand young people to study and work on projects annually. Here, about 200 students successfully completed computer literacy and front-end courses and received certificates. About 150 students scored B2 and higher on the IELTS exams. About 20 specialists work at the center.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of such complexes, aimed at guiding young people towards science, including teaching foreign languages.

- Today we must support the future aspirations of such centers, if necessary, unite their efforts and connect them with foreign partners. Then parents will confidently educate their children in such centers," the President said.

With the approach of spring, it has become a tradition to organize spring festivals in the regions. The President of our country, taking part in the sumalak festival in the massif, was in a joyful mood along with the residents, listened to the sincere opinions of the residents.

- Today the world community looks at Uzbekistan with respect, sees the conditions created for our people, and is witnessing the results of the reforms. The "New Uzbekistan" residential areas are also being built so that our people can live a prosperous life and in comfortable houses. I don't say "education-education" for nothing. Thanks to our knowledge and creative work, we will further enhance the prestige of our country and occupy a worthy place in the world. The people of Surkhandarya are hardworking and generous, and we will implement many innovations here," the President said.
