The Hydrometeorological Service warned about the possible risk of avalanches in the mountainous areas of the republic.
It is reported that due to the expected precipitation and changes in air temperature on March 9–11, 2026, the risk of avalanches is announced in some mountainous areas.
The risk concerns the following territories:
In Kashkadarya region — Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shahrisabz districts;
In Surkhandarya region — Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
In Samarkand region — Nurabad, Kushrabot, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
In Jizzakh region — Bakhmal, Zomin districts;
In Tashkent region — Bostanlik, Parkent, Ohangaron districts, as well as the mountains of the Chatkal range;
In Namangan region — Pop district.
In this regard, residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, as well as drivers moving through mountainous areas are asked to take precautionary measures.
It should be recalled that earlier it was reported that cold and humid air masses are expected to enter the territory of Uzbekistan on March 9–12.
