Heat to intensify in May with weather changes and rain expected

May 2026 in Uzbekistan is expected to be remembered for being warmer than usual and having variable weather. According to forecasters, the average temperature throughout the month will be 1.5–2 degrees above the climatic norm. This will "test" the population with hot days on one hand, and short-term thunderstorms and rain on the other.
During the first five days of May, the weather will be unstable. Short-term rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, is possible in some regions. Daytime temperatures during this period are forecast to be around +22…+27 degrees.
Significant fluctuations in temperature are expected during the second and third ten-day periods of the month. While nights may cool down to +13…+23 degrees, daytime temperatures are expected to rise to +25…+35 degrees. This will allow for a true feeling of summer on certain days.
Peak temperatures may be even higher, particularly in the southern, northern, and desert regions. On some days, there is a possibility that the air will warm up to +36…+38 degrees. This serves as an important warning, especially for those working outdoors or planning trips.
At the same time, despite the general warming trend, Uzhydromet reports that the probability of localized thunderstorms will persist throughout the month. Therefore, unexpected rain may occur alongside sunny days.
In summary, May is expected to be like a "seesaw"—warm one day, and cool and rainy the next. Therefore, it is recommended to adjust plans according to the weather and take necessary precautions.
