Chinese enterprises lead the market in Uzbekistan

The number of enterprises operating with foreign investment in Uzbekistan is growing. According to the National Statistics Committee, as of May 1, 2026, there are 19,490 enterprises with foreign capital operating in our country.

Of these, 4,427 are joint ventures, and 15,063 are fully foreign-owned enterprises. These figures show that foreign investment continues to flow actively into the Uzbek economy.

Over the last five years, the total number of enterprises with foreign investment has increased 1.4 times. At the same time, the share of foreign enterprises in the total number of businesses has risen from 61.3% to 77.3%, indicating growing investor interest in the Uzbek market.

By country, China holds the highest share. There are 5,615 enterprises with Chinese investment operating in Uzbekistan. Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan follow in the rankings.

This list shows high activity from Asian and neighboring countries in Uzbekistan's foreign business environment. In particular, the leadership of Chinese companies indicates expanding cooperation in trade, manufacturing, construction, services, and technology.

In short, Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly active arena for foreign investors. China is in first place, with Russia and Turkey in the top three. These figures are not just statistics—they are a clear signal of strengthening foreign investment and new business ties in the economy.
