The requirement of vaccination against meningitis for Umrah pilgrimage has been waived
The Saudi Arabian government has officially lifted the mandatory meningitis vaccination requirement for pilgrims performing the Umrah pilgrimage. The country's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced this in a directive sent to all airlines.

This decision is sure to create great convenience for pilgrims planning to go on an Umrah pilgrimage. Earlier, the Saudi government had introduced a procedure to require all pilgrims visiting the country to have a meningitis vaccination certificate from February 1, 2025. According to this requirement, the vaccination had to be carried out at least 10 days and no more than 3 years before departure to Saudi Arabia.

However, according to the new decision, this restriction has now been lifted. This will significantly simplify the organizational and medical procedures for pilgrims.

The Saudi government continues to publish updated information on the procedures and requirements for the Umrah pilgrimage through its official website and diplomatic channels.

This change, aimed at providing convenience to pilgrims, shows the country's desire to make Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages even easier.
