US President Donald Trump was spotted with a large brown spot on his hand during a meeting with Emmanuel Macron at the White House, Bild reported.
Photos of the spot have sparked speculation online about the US president's possible illness.
Among other theories, it could be a result of infusions - a hematoma that often appears after the needle is removed. Users interested in diagnosing the cause of the infusions point to dehydration or treatment for vitamin deficiency.
Trump watchers say the president has had bruises on his right hand before. One user even said that Trump wore a brace for a while.

One of the comments said that similar bruises were observed on Queen Elizabeth's hands in the last week of her life.
According to a New York doctor contacted by BILD, the spot could be a side effect of treatment with antiplatelet drugs. The doctor noted that both hands need to be examined for a more accurate assessment.
"In addition, Trump likes to apply sun cream to tan in the sun, which also makes it difficult to detect mysterious spots," the specialist said.
If his prediction is correct, then the main concerns may be unfounded: "These side effects do not pose a serious risk!"
During the heated online debate, users recalled that Trump has been criticized before for his lack of transparency about his health. When he was first nominated, his personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, said that "if Trump is elected, he will be the healthiest person ever elected president."
