If the United States tries to strike Iran or incite internal rebellion, it will face a "strong response," Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday, Reuters reported.
"There has always been hostility from the United States and Israel. They threaten to attack us, which we consider unlikely. But if they dare to do so, they will face a strong counterattack," Khamenei said.
Khamenei also warned that thoughts of fomenting rebellion within Iran should not be ignored.
"If they (the US) are thinking of starting a rebellion inside the country, as they did in previous years, the Iranian people will deal with them themselves," he said.
On March 30, US President Donald Trump threatened to bomb Iran if it did not reach an agreement on its nuclear program.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pazakhstani ruled out direct talks with the US on its nuclear program, but said indirect contacts were possible.
