Poland accuses Russia of a catastrophic fire in a large shopping center: the ministry made a sensational statement
The terrible fire that broke out in the Marywilska 44 shopping center in Warsaw, Poland, on May 12, 2024, shocked the entire country. This tragedy not only caused huge economic damage, but also could provoke an international conflict. The Polish government openly blamed Russia for the fire.

This was announced at a joint press conference by Polish Justice Minister Adam Bodnar and Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak. According to their statement, the fire was ordered by Russian special services and was carried out by means of a clearly planned arson.

The ministers noted that some suspects in connection with the organization of the fire have already been arrested and important evidence has been obtained during the investigation.

“According to the information collected at the moment, it has been established that a detailed plan for this terrible event and instructions for its implementation were prepared by a person located in Russia. "We have clear evidence of the entire order of the fire, the actions of the criminals, and even how they documented the incident," the ministers said in a statement.

It should be recalled that as a result of this catastrophic fire, the shopping center was almost completely destroyed. The fire engulfed an area of 63,000 square meters and completely burned down the shops and pavilions belonging to almost 1,400 tenants in the building, causing millions of dollars in economic damage. Firefighting operations related to the fire lasted more than five hours and it was very difficult to control it.

Experts also drew attention to the fact that the fire spread extremely quickly and on a large scale as a result of the inspection of the scene. They noted that it is unlikely that a fire of this magnitude could have occurred as a result of natural events or an accident. Based on these factors, investigators and experts came to the conclusion that this fire was deliberately set.

The Polish government has promised to provide the international community with all the evidence on this incident. So far, Russia has not officially responded to these accusations.

The sharp statements of the Polish ministers are likely to further strain diplomatic relations between the two countries. International experts are also closely monitoring the situation.
