A mother who smashed an egg on her daughter’s forehead became a victim of a TikTok trend and will pay a fine of $2,000!

A 24-year-old woman from Helsingborg, Sweden, was taken to court and heavily fined for a joke that went viral on TikTok. She posted a video on social media showing herself smashing an egg on her daughter’s forehead.

The incident occurred last year when the woman decided to film a video of baking an apple pie with her daughter. While recording, she unexpectedly smashed an egg on the child's forehead as a joke. In the video, it’s clear the little girl was shocked and gave her mother a displeased look. Despite the child clearly disliking the joke, the woman and another participant began laughing.

The video, uploaded to TikTok, was viewed by approximately 100 thousand people. One viewer considered the action as "abuse and humiliation" toward the child and reported it to local police. Following an investigation, the woman was charged with "child abuse" and summoned to court.

In court, the woman stated that her actions were merely a joke, and that similar videos are popular on TikTok. According to her, many parents also film such clips, making it a network trend.

However, the prosecutor took the situation seriously and defined the woman's actions as "an attack on the child's dignity." The judge also considered these actions as "thoughtless and negatively affecting the child."

Consequently, the court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to pay a fine of 20,000 Swedish kronor (approximately 2,000 dollars).

This case once again highlights the possible consequences of jokes involving children on social media. Therefore, parents are urged to be cautious and responsible when creating such videos.
