Nowadays, fast food — that is, quickly prepared meals — has become a daily dietary habit for millions of people around the world. Pizza, burgers, fries, and soft drinks have turned into staple foods in many countries. But which countries are the most "voracious" in this regard?
The world's fast food lovers
1. USA — the absolute leader in this field. According to statistics, 83% of Americans consume fast food at least once a week, and 37% do so daily!
2. The United Kingdom has over 46,000 fast food outlets in operation. A large portion of the population are also regular customers.
3. France, Sweden, Austria, South Korea, and China also have significantly developed fast food markets. For instance, in China, it's been found that 97% of the population consumes fast food.
Who leads in Central Asia?
In our region, Kazakhstan is ahead in fast food consumption. Over the past year, people in the neighboring country have consumed more than 3 million burgers — accounting for 47% of the entire Central Asian market.
What about Uzbekistan?
So far, there is no exact statistic on fast food consumption in Uzbekistan. However:
- The ready-made food market is expected to reach $523 million by 2025;
- The market is growing at a rate of over 8% per year;
- Each Uzbek citizen is forecasted to contribute an average of $14 in this sector.
These figures indicate a growing interest in fast food. Alongside global brands like McDonald’s, KFC, and Burger King, the number of local chains and cafes is also increasing. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
