Ukraine announced the "Pautina" operation: was a major blow to the Russian strategic aviation?
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced that a serious blow has been inflicted on Russia's strategic aviation potential as a result of special operations conducted in recent days. As part of the operation known as "Website", 34 percent of strategic missile carriers stationed at Russian airfields were damaged, the SBU reported on June 1 on its official Telegram channel.

According to Kiev, these damages could have a significant impact on Russia's strategic defense potential. According to SBU estimates, the total cost of the damaged aircraft is approximately $ 7 billion.

DW, citing its sources, reported that 41 aircraft were damaged during the "Website" operation, including strategic aircraft such as the A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3. It is known that these types of aircraft were actively used to deliver long-range missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. The attacks were carried out at the Belaya airbase in the Irkutsk region of Russia, Diagilevo in the Ryazan region, Olenya in Murmansk, and Ivanovo in the Ivanovo region.

Video footage circulated in the media and on social networks also provided clear evidence of these attacks. It can be seen that some drones directly hit the fuselage of the aircraft and exploded, while others fell on the runway and caught fire.

So far, these air strikes and the associated losses have not been confirmed by Russian authorities. However, according to representatives of the SBU, this operation was one of the important strategic steps for the security of Ukraine. They aimed to reduce the threat to civilians in the country by limiting Russia's military potential.

International analysts are also assessing the impact of this incident. If the information is confirmed, this could be one of the largest losses inflicted on Russian military aviation in recent years. The Zamin.uz editorial team will continue to closely monitor the development of the situation.
