Mass attack on Ukraine: Zelensky calls the world to decisive action
The Russian Armed Forces carried out a new powerful and massive attack on Ukrainian territory. The attack, which occurred on the night of Friday, June 6, involved numerous drones and various types of missiles, and is considered one of the largest assaults since the beginning of the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community to pay serious attention to the situation and take harsh and decisive measures against Russia. He issued a sharp statement on his page on the social network X.

“During today's attack, Russia used over 400 drones and more than 40 missiles. Among them were dangerous Iskander-M, Iskander-K, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and other ballistic types. This vile assault, which endangered thousands of lives, has so far claimed three lives and injured 49 people of varying degrees. Russia must be held accountable,” said Zelensky in his address.

Addressing the international community, Zelensky urged the US, the European Union, and other countries to increase pressure on Moscow:

“From the first minutes of the war, Russia has been mercilessly targeting peaceful cities and villages. The number of war victims increases every day. Together with the international community, we’ve done a lot to defend ourselves. But that’s not enough. If global leaders do not intensify pressure today and instead remain silent instead of stopping the war, it will be tantamount to complicity. The international community must make firm decisions!”, he added.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used a total of 452 various weapons and drones during the night attack. Specifically: 407 “Shahed” attack drones, 6 “Iskander-M/KN-23” ballistic missiles, 36 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 2 “Iskander-K” cruise missiles, and one Kh-31P anti-radiation missile.

Ukraine's defense systems worked effectively. Air defense systems and electronic warfare equipment neutralized or destroyed 406 enemy targets. However, despite this, the Russian attack resulted in civilian deaths and many injuries.

This attack caused a significant reaction among international politicians and observers, increasing the likelihood of new sanctions and other diplomatic responses against Russia.

Many world powers, especially the European Union and the United States, are closely monitoring the situation and discussing next steps. Zelensky, in turn, once again called on the global community to take immediate and practical steps to increase pressure on Moscow.

This situation shows a new level of tension in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Future decisions made by the international community will undoubtedly influence the course of events.
