Russia launches largest wartime strike on Kharkiv (photo)

The Russian armed forces have carried out a second night of missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian regions. Kharkiv was one of the main targets of the Russian armed forces' strikes on the night of June 7. Russia launched a series of airstrikes across the city using 48 drones, five aerial bombs, four rocket launchers and three missiles, regional administration head Oleg Sinegubov said. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov said it was the most powerful attack the city has faced since the start of the full-scale war.

A nine-story building in the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv was severely damaged when one of the drones hit it. The attack caused a fire in 12 apartments on the seventh, eighth and ninth floors, burning a total of 600 square meters. A woman was pulled from the rubble.

According to Ukrainian officials, the attack caused a large fire at one of the factories in Kharkiv, covering an area of 10 square meters. According to the regional administration, the factory was attacked using a total of 40 drones, four aerial bombs and one missile. Four workshops were hit. People may be trapped under the rubble, and according to the regional prosecutor's office, six people are trapped inside.

According to the regional administration, a total of two apartment buildings, two private houses, two enterprises, two cars, an administrative building and a children's music school were damaged as a result of the attack on Kharkiv.

According to the latest data, three people were killed in Kharkiv, 21 people were injured, including a baby and a 14-year-old girl. A 64-year-old civilian was injured during the shelling of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.

In Dnipro, according to Ukrainian officials, the Russian attack damaged infrastructure, a factory, an educational institution, garages and cars, shattered windows in apartment buildings, and injured two civilians. The attack on Kherson damaged two apartment buildings and killed two people, a husband and wife.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian military used a total of 206 drones and nine missiles during the night: six Kh-59/69 aircraft missiles, two ballistic missiles launched from the Iskander-M complex, and one cruise missile launched from the Iskander-K complex. According to the Ukrainian military, the Ukrainian military neutralized 167 drones and shot down seven missiles.
