Tensions and fears in the Middle East are growing. According to Dmitry Gendelman, an adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, the Israeli army is expanding its military operations against Iran's nuclear program. He made an official statement about this, noting that the operations are being carried out "based on accurate intelligence."
According to the adviser, the strikes are targeting "dozens of important Iranian sites" - including ballistic missile launchers, strategic infrastructure and important military bases. In his opinion, these actions are being taken to prevent the "regime that calls for the destruction of Israel" from developing weapons of mass destruction.
Against the background of the operations, the Mehr news agency reported that powerful explosions occurred in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported that the Israeli air force may have struck an oil refinery and a military base in Tabriz. This has not yet been officially confirmed, but local residents reported hearing explosions.
It should be recalled that Israel launched large-scale military operations into Iranian territory on the night of June 13. As a result, a number of high-ranking Iranian military officers, as well as leading scientists involved in nuclear research, were killed. According to official figures from the Iranian government, 78 people were killed and more than 320 were injured in the attacks. Unfortunately, there were also civilians among the victims.
In response to this tense situation, Iran fired missiles at Israel on the evening of June 13. According to media reports, four people were killed and more than 70 were injured as a result of the missile strike.
This clash between the nuclear program, military power and geopolitical conflicts is attracting even more attention from the international community and is starting a new difficult phase in the region. In this situation, efforts for peace and security, international negotiations are becoming even more important.
