The tension in the Middle East has risen to a new level. On the night of June 18, 2025, for the first time, Iran used strategically significant heavy and long-range “Sejjil” ballistic missiles. Tasnim agency, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported this.

These strikes were carried out as part of the next — the 12th — wave of the response operation named “True Promise 3.” As main targets, Israel’s intelligence centers, military fighter bases, and several key infrastructures were chosen. The Iranian side describes these strikes as “precise, systematic, and uninterrupted.”

According to the IRGC, in previous waves, Israel’s air defense systems such as Iron Dome were partially destroyed. Now, the sky is considered “open” for Iran’s drones and missiles. Experts believe this situation can seriously change the balance of power in the region.

The IRGC statement says, “the gates of hell have opened” and the population in Israel is now “in a situation where they cannot stay outside the underground shelters for even a moment.” They called on people to quickly leave the occupied lands, declaring that “the only way to survive is to escape.”

Before the missile attack, Iran warned migrants in Israel and urgently advised them to leave the area. Such harsh statements and actions are taking the confrontation between the two countries to a new phase.

In videos circulated on social media, the movement of the “Sejjil” missile launched by Iran can be seen in the sky. While in flight, the missile leaves an unusual bright trail behind it. These images have attracted great interest among internet users worldwide.

The “Sejjil” missiles are two-stage, solid-fuel, modern ballistic weapons capable of covering a distance of up to 2,000 km. Previously, these missiles were seen only at parades and tests. Now, for the first time, they have been used in real military operations.

The Israeli government quickly responded to these attacks. The Israeli Defense Army stated that on June 13 it launched an operation against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, with the main goal of completely destroying Tehran’s nuclear program. This led to a harsh response from Iran.

According to the latest reports, at least 24 people were killed and hundreds injured in Israel as a result of these Iranian missile strikes. Meanwhile, the number of casualties on the Iranian side reportedly exceeds 270 people.

These events further increase the risk of a new large-scale military conflict in the Middle East. International experts and political analysts consider the situation extremely dangerous and call on both sides for maximum restraint.

However, in the current conditions, it is very difficult to hope that these calls will be effective. Both sides are not refraining from using heavy weapons to strengthen their positions and punish the enemy.

According to Zamin.uz analysts, Iran’s use of the “Sejjil” missile is not only a military strike but also a political and strategic signal. This means that the confrontation between the sides is now being resolved not by words, but by real weapons.
