Several regions of Russia reported drone attacks overnight. As a result of the strikes and explosions, a major fire broke out at an oil refinery in Syzran, Samara region, according to videos shared by multiple Telegram channels. Witnesses captured thick black smoke covering the sky and burning structures at the plant.
Regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishev stated that 13 drones attempted to enter the area and were destroyed. However, he did not provide a direct comment on the fire at the refinery. Some sources said the blaze lasted for several hours, with firefighters working tirelessly to extinguish it.
In Kursk region, a drone strike also led to fatalities. According to official reports, a drone crashed into a residential building, causing an explosion. The incident occurred in the Zheleznodorozhny district, where a woman was killed and 10 others sustained various injuries. Children were reported among the injured.
Rescue teams and law enforcement officers are currently working at the scene. The Russian Ministry of Defense linked the attacks to Ukraine, but the Ukrainian side has not officially commented. Local residents are calling for tighter security measures.
