Armenian banks begin collecting data on Russians

Banks and brokers in Armenia have begun requesting tax residency information from Russian clients. This is part of an automatic data exchange agreement with Russia.

Experts say that Yerevan will send the first data package for 2024 to Moscow this September. As a result, the Russian Federal Tax Service will gain insight into the incomes and assets of Russians holding accounts in Armenia.

Currently, Armenia is one of the most popular destinations for Russians to open foreign bank accounts. The trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
