Experts have identified 40 important words that reflect public sentiment and the main trends of the past year. The list includes a number of expressions that have been widely used on social networks during 2025, RBK reports.
The word "Labubu" was recognized as a leader in the humanitarian sphere. This category also includes such important terms as "faith", "AI", "love", "patriotism", "negotiations", "victory", "search", "values" and "censorship". It is interesting that the word "cringe" has consistently made it into the rating for many years, and this time was no exception.
A number of candidates for the title of "word of the year" were also identified among the "argon" expressions widely used in youth speech. Among them: "toxic" (a harmful person), "elephant" (a marker of coolness and strength), "shine" (an excerpt from a meme, a motivational line), "sigma" (an independent and strong loner), as well as "pikmi" (a marker of those who try to impose themselves and be liked), "svaga" (cool) and popular Internet memes "okak" and "bombardiro crocodile".
According to experts, one of the leading words has become "AI". The popularity of this term clearly shows how deeply artificial intelligence has penetrated our lives.
