Another creative work of the famous musician and artist Viktor Tsoi has been put up for sale. At the auction titled “Russian Art. XVIII–XXI Centuries. Painting, Graphics, Sculpture,” the artist’s work on cardboard was presented as a lot.
According to the information from the “First Names” auction, the starting price of the painting was set at 1.5 million rubles. At the same time, it is assumed that the final amount from the sale may reach from 2.5 million to 6 million rubles.
The artwork depicts a red square man with a yellow rocket flying out of his mouth. This drawing was created in the 1980s using mixed technique and was not given a separate title. Initially, it was kept in the collection of photographer Sergey Borisov.
The auction house’s website notes: “Viktor Tsoi’s multifaceted talent has stood the test of time and has not lost its relevance. His song ‘Changes’ has become the anthem of an entire era. In art he also created freely and boldly, through his works deeply feeling the spirit of the time and not being afraid to imagine the future.”
It should be recalled that in 2024 another drawing by the artist was put up for sale at the Vladey auction and was purchased for 8 million rubles. At that time, this lot exceeded the expected price fivefold and set a record.
