In the Russian Federation, special attention is paid to discipline and safety. Based on new measures being prepared by the government, entry into or stay in the country of foreign citizens who violate the rules may be restricted, reported RIA Novosti.
According to the information, the current federal migration legislation sets out specific rules. If a foreign citizen is held administratively liable twice or more within three years, his or her entry into Russia may be banned. Such restrictions fully apply to cases of traffic rule violations as well.
The legal document provides examples of violations: driving a vehicle that has not passed technical inspection, failing to yield at a pedestrian crossing, and incorrect installation of license plates. Such cases may become a serious problem for foreign drivers. As a result of such offenses, they may be banned from entering the country for up to three years.
Officials emphasize that these measures are introduced to strengthen legality in Russia, ensure road safety, and maintain public order. At the same time, foreign labor migrants and drivers are required to treat the country’s laws with respect.
Among the public, this initiative has caused different opinions. Some believe that this will increase discipline on the roads, while others note that this may be too strict a restriction for foreign citizens.
If the final decision is made, every foreign citizen visiting Russia will have to pay serious attention to traffic rules. Even a minor violation may deprive them of the opportunity to enter the country.
